The Rockin' Pinecones play rootsy New Orleans-style R&B, with a little Cajun and Zydeco added for extra spice. The quintet covers hits and obscurities by the likes of Dave Bartholomew, Clarence "Bon Ton" Garlow, Clifton Chenier, Boozoo Chavis, Snooks Eaglin, Professor Longhair, Queen Ida, and many other Louisiana greats. The Pinecones formed in 1988, and were an immediate success on the Twin Cities scene until their break-up in 1991. Since their Mardi Gras reunion in 2004, the Pinecones are rededicated to filling the dance-halls and juke-joints of the northland with the sweet sounds of the French Quarter and the bayou.

Mike "Razz" Russell was one of The Original Harmony Ridge Creek Dippers with Mark Olson of the Jayhawks. He brings his modern country rock sound to close out Bands for Band 2007.
